VOLUNTEER

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Step 1: Volunteer Workdays

Our Volunteer Workdays are held 1-2x a month and help us tackle miscellaneous chores like grounds clean up and some animal care tasks. These events are roughly 3 hours on a weekend, and are fully guided by our Animal Care Team members.

You can come to as many Workdays as you’d like. Perfect for humans looking for a low-commitment way to help out. Lots of time for petting bellies and loving on pigs!

At least 3 Workdays must be attended as a pre-requisite for the more comprehensive Volunteer Orientation & Training to become a regular member of our team.

  • Step 2: Join the Official CTPR Animal Care Team

Our Animal Care Team is an on-your-terms role that helps us fill vital shifts like Morning Wellness Routines, serve dinner to all the residents, ensure everyone has bedding and water, socialize with the pigs, and perform more advanced tasks like providing medication. You’ll also be able to volunteer at our events, come to pig workshops, and partake in our fun outings! Our Team is truly like a wonderful family of kind humans.

We ask that you commit to a minimum of 1-2 shifts per month to be trained to join the Animal Care Team.

You must attend 3 Volunteer Workdays and then register for a Volunteer Orientation to join the team.

  • Corporate Groups

We love to host school field trips or corporate groups for team building, education, and advocacy. Spend a day with animals in the great outdoors! Email volunteer@centraltexaspigs.org (button below) to learn more.

  • Live-In Opportunities

Our Live-In opportunity is currently filled! Feel free to fill out an application if you’d like to be considered when the role opens up again.

We are looking for animal-loving, hard-working folks to join our team as a Live-In Animal Care Team Member. This position is volunteer-based and rotational, lasting 6 months to 12 months.

It takes a village

How do we care for so many pigs? With MANY many hands, eyes, ears, and hearts to perform routine care like feeding and pen cleaning, keep an eye out for illness & injury, support special needs animals, and help the pigs feel safe & loved.

One of the best parts about pigs is how discerning they are in choosing their friends! Pigs have preferences and connect with different energies, just like we do! By filling their lives with so many unique individuals, we are able to continue finding emotional breakthroughs in pigs even after years with us.
